DescriptionTwo-story rectangular massing’s containing private program spaces define a central, wedge-shaped, transparent double-volume shared space. Shared family spaces including the entry, dining areas, kitchen, and reading bridge are contained within this double-volume. The main circulation spine is highlighted on one side by a travertine-clad wall running the length of the entire house. Floor-to-ceiling glass and a continuous wood ceiling running from inside to outside hide the division between the interior and exterior. Locating two of the children’s bedrooms above the at-grade garage allows for an additional loft/play area in each bedroom and a transitional mid-level landing leading to the floating staircase.
